Soil Management: Root Revitalization
At Hampton Pest Management, Inc. (HPM) we believe healthy plants and shrubs start with a healthy root structure. We are strong proponents of regular fertilization to promote healthy root growth. But at times fertilization alone is not enough to reduce stress on a root structure. This is especially true on highly manicured landscapes where soil environments may be less than efficient. Root revitalization uses an Air Spade® to improve compacted soil conditions and incorporate organic soil amendments from the trunk out to the dripline.
Our root revitalization program is designed to improve the root structure of trees and plants at three stages:
- Preventing decline in aging trees
- Supporting growth in young trees
- Aiding recovery in trees and soils impacted by construction
