A Southampton rental can come back to life on a Friday and feel like the yard failed. The lawn may have been cut. The beds may look tended. Guests still get bitten at dusk by the pool. That is often water that sat while the house was empty: a closed cover, a clogged auto-fill, toys, and a drain that never dried.
Hampton Pest Management treats mosquitoes as a source problem. A yard-wide spray will not empty a cover. We want the water named first.
Empty-house water is a different clock
Tell us the vacancy dates. A two-week gap in August is enough for a cover to hold a film and for adults to be waiting when cars pull in. Photograph the cover, the equipment pad, and any buckets by the outdoor shower. Note whether a pool tech was on a skip-week.
Second homes go quiet. The water does not. The first weekend back is when you notice.
Lawn service is not mosquito source work
A fertilization visit or a hedge trim does not inspect the cover. We will not imply it did. Source reduction and a barrier treatment are separate lines. If the owner wants both, we write both. If the cover still holds water, the file should say the cover still holds water.
Rentals need turnover notes. A Saturday arrival is not a Tuesday vacant visit. Occupancy is part of the mosquito file.
East End water is not one habitat
A Bridgehampton gunite cover is not a Montauk inflatable left in a side yard. A clogged roof leader at the foundation is a third source. Pressure tracks the standing water, the shade, and how often people sit outside at dusk.
Pets that drink from the cover edge pick up what the film holds. If the dog never uses the front lawn, treating the front lawn is theater.
Closeout names the water
